Rahane: 'Obviously we really batted well and we had three crucial partnerships among ourselves, so, yes, the batting group is doing really well and during the second innings it will be also very crucial.'

Amla: 'I think we were in a similar position in Abu Dhabi, so we haven't played a lot of Test cricket this year itself so, yes, we have found ourselves in a spot of bother a few times and, thankfully, on this occasion – well, we're not out of the woods yet – we have made some sort of recovery.
'I can't recall all the other games but this is Test cricket, this is probably what makes it probably the best format – the ups and downs and how the game can change quite quickly.'
