Waqar: Amir not at his best just yet

Pakistan coach Waqar Younis says he is satisfied with the performance of Mohammad Amir against New Zealand, after the left-arm seamer completed his first tour with the national side after his five-year ban for spot-fixing.
After only taking one wicket in the three T20Is, the 23 year-old captured five scalps in the two ODIs and was regularly described by the Black Caps' batsmen as the tourists most dangerous bowler.
Even though he was satisfied, Waqar thinks Amir still has some way to go to get back to his best, but has no doubts about the seamer's value to the national side.
Waqar told reporters: "I still feel Amir's not at his best at the moment. I always knew that it's going to take some time.
"But he's getting there. He's started swinging the ball back at right-handers, which I think is key for the left-arm fast bowlers. And he's getting his pace back.
"There's still a lot of pressure for Amir, playing international cricket. We're trying to ease him into it – not expecting blasts from him.
"As long as he gets to his peak, when the time is right, hopefully he'll deliver the goods for Pakistan."
