Waqar Younis quits as Pakistan coach

Pakistan are without a head coach after bowling legend Waqar Younis quit the job on Monday, just a day after Shahid Afridi stepped down as captain following a disappointing World Twenty20.
Pakistan failed to make it out of the group stage in India, while they also did poorly at the Asia Cup earlier in the year. Waqar had met with the Pakistan Cricket Board, and made the announcement later in the day.
The PCB had called for a review into the team after the WT20, especially about how dire the batting was, and there was general discord after the team manager Intikhab Alam called Afridi a 'clueless' captain.
Waqar himself was also critical of Afridi, and also lamented the fact that he was not in charge of team selection. The PCB then called for a review of Waqar's two years as coach, about which they met this week.
His contract was due to expire in three months.
