Warne: England could pick KP for the Ashes

Former Australia great Shane Warne feels batsman Kevin Pietersen could make a return to the England side for the Ashes series against Australia which takes place later this year.
South Africa-born Pietersen, who was axed from the England side after the 2013/2014 Ashes series for being a divisive figure in the dressing room, has returned to county cricket with Surrey in a bid to win back a place in the national side.
Warne, who took 708 wickets in his Test career, believes Pietersen is still one of the best batsman in England, if he is playing at his best.
The 45 year-old Warne said: "If you look at an England side and work out if it Kevin Pietersen would make this team stronger or not, I'd say yes.
"It's up to him go and make some runs. If he peels off three or four 100s, I'm sure he will be in the side but if he doesn't, then they probably won't pick him.
"I think it is a credit for him for giving it a go. He wants to play for England again so let's hope he goes out and makes some centuries because that will make some interesting viewing leading up to the Test matches."
