The West Indies Cricket Board have named former skipper Clive Lloyd as their new head of selection, and he will hold the office for the next two years, they announced on Saturday night.

Former match referee Lloyd's first task, along with the rest of the panel, will be to pick the sides for the home series against Bangladesh. He will be assisted by, amongst others, coach Ottis Gibson, the captains, as well as Courtney Browne.

Richard Pybus, WICB director of cricket said: "We welcome the introduction of Clive Lloyd, one of the true legends of West Indies cricket, to the selection panel for the first time.

"We are also glad that an iconic fast bowler like Courtney Walsh, and highly-experienced, former international player and coach like Eldine Baptiste have accepted to perform this important function."
