Yasir fails drugs test, suspended from all cricket

Pakistan legspinner Yasir Shah has been provisionally suspended from all cricket by the ICC after he tested positive for a banned substance, chlortalidone.

The sample was taken from Yasir on 13 November after Pakistan played England in an ODI in Abu Dhabi, with chlortalidone on the prohibited list of banned substances.

While he is provisionally suspended, Yasir cannot play – or be involved in any capacity – international matches, and games organised by any national cricket board or its affiliated members.

The 29 year-old Yasir can request a B sample and if that comes back negative then the suspension will be dropped immediately.

The news comes hot on the heels of Sri Lanka's Kusal Perera also failing a drugs test and being sent home from a tour of New Zealand.
