Pakistan will be without veteran batsman Younis Khan for the rest of the ODI series against Sri Lanka, as he has returned home to be with his family in the wake of his nephew's passing.

The news broke on Monday that Younis' nephew died while reportedly undergoing a liver transplant in India. The PCB will not be sending a replacement batsman for the rest of the series.

Shaharyar Khan, the PCB chairman, said in a message to Younis" "I am deeply saddened at the passing away of your nephew. Please accept my condolences, and convey these to your family as well."

Younis had made a comeback to the ODI side in the first game, having been out of the team for more than a year, as he looked to impress ahead of the World Cup. He made three runs, though Pakistan did win the game.
