Zimbabwe’s Raza fined for dissent

Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza has been fined for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first ODI between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in Mirpur on Saturday.

Pakistan-born Raza was fined 15 per cent of his match fee by match referee Javagal Srinath after showing dissent when he was given out.

After being given out caught behind, Raza delayed leaving the wicket, shaking his head and uttering some words that were deemed contrary to the 'spirit' of the game.

The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Aleem Dar and Sharfuddoula, third umpire Enamul Haque, and fourth umpire Anisur Rahman.

All Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee.
