George Dockrell 9 wickets away from becoming Ireland’s most prolific ODI bowler – who is he surpassing?

Ireland have only been playing ODI cricket since 2006.
They have produced several top wicket-takers since.
Here is an insightful list of Ireland’s top wicket-takers in ODI cricket.
10. Alex Cusack
Cusack has taken the 10th most wickets for the Ireland national cricket team in ODIs. He played ODI cricket for eight years until 2015. Cusack’s ODI bowling average of 23.96 is the lowest among Ireland’s top 10 wicket-takers in this format.
9. Mark Adair
Adair has taken the ninth most wickets for the Ireland national cricket team in ODIs. He started playing ODI cricket in 2019 and, five four-fors later, is still pursuing a maiden five-wicket haul in this format.
8. Trent Johnston
Johnston has taken the eighth most wickets for the Ireland national cricket team in ODIs. Born in Australia, the former Ireland captain was a veritable workhorse in the Irish seam attack and held a bit of responsibility with the bat.
7. Barry McCarthy
McCarthy has taken the seventh most wickets for the Ireland national cricket team in ODIs. His economy rate of 5.79 is the second highest among Ireland’s top 10 wicket-takers in ODIs.

4. Andy McBrine
McBrine has taken the fourth most wickets for the Ireland national cricket team in ODIs. He is the most prolific right-arm finger spinner in Ireland’s ODI history. He succeeded a lot with clever changes in pace and flight.
3. Boyd Rankin
Rankin has taken the third most wickets for the Ireland national cricket team in ODIs. He missed 100 ODI wickets and never took a five-for for Ireland, but went on to play Test cricket for England. Rankin was one of the tallest fast bowlers in world cricket.
2. George Dockrell
George Dockrell has taken the second most wickets for the Ireland national cricket team in ODIs. He is one of only two Ireland cricketers to take 100 or more ODI wickets – and features among the county’s leading run-scorers in the same format.
1. Kevin O’Brien
O’Brien has taken the most wickets for the Ireland national cricket team in ODIs. He will be remembered for that ODI century against England in the 2011 Cricket World Cup, but lest we forget his significant contribution with the ball as well.
