A quickfire cameo and two key breakthroughs from all-rounder Jacques Kallis carried the Kolkata Knight Riders to a six-wicket triumph over the Kings XI Punjab in Friday's Indian Premier League clash at Eden Gardens.

Set a target of 150, opening batsman Manvinder Bisla struck three fours and three sixes in his 44-ball 51 to see the Knight Riders home with 10 deliveries to spare.

He received good support from Kallis (37) and Eoin Morgan (42) after Kings XI seamer Azhar Mahmood (3-35) had done some damage with the new ball.

Earlier, Manan Vohra top scored with 31 in the Kings XI's total of 149-6 after they chose to bat at Eden Gardens.

Five of the top six made more than 20, while South African all-rounder Kallis picked up 2-14 from his four overs.
