The Chennai Super Kings crushed the Kings XI Punjab by a whopping 10 wickets in Wednesday's Indian Premier League clash in Mohali, Chandigarh.
Australian batsman Michael Hussey belted an unbeaten 86 from just 50 deliveries as he helped his side ease to their victory target of 139 with 16 balls to spare.
Hussey hammered two sixes and 11 fours as he combined with Murali Vijay to see the Super Kings home, though the Kings XI did see Piyush Chawla drop a return catch and wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist miss a stumping chance.
Vijay played his part for Chennai with an even 50 not out, making sure the Kings XI endured a miserable first outing in front of their own fans.
It also meant older brother Michael got the better of David in the battle of the Husseys, though the latter did weigh in with a top score of 41 in the home side's innings.
Gurkeerat Singh (31) and Manan Vohra (16) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures in an innings that came to an end with a delivery still remaining in the 20th over.
Dwayne Bravo was the pick of the Chennai bowlers with 3-27 from his four overs. Dirk Nannes claimed 2-17, including dismissing Gilchrist for just nine, and Chris Morris also picked up two wickets for the Super Kings.
The Kings XI had at one stage been 106-3 but then lost 7-32 to collapse in a heap once Hussey fell to the bowling of India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.
