Daredevils end losing run

The Delhi Daredevils won their first match in eight attempts when they beat Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets on Saturday.
The Delhi Daredevils won their first match in eight attempts when they beat Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets on Saturday.
Chasing a total of 167, the Daredevils reached the target with three balls remaining when man of the match JP Duminy (52 not out) hit Piyush Chawla for six to bring up his half-century.
It was Duminy's innings and the 56 of captain and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik that propped up Delhi, after it seemed they were destined to lose their eighth straight match when Manoj Tiwary (eight) was dismissed with the 127/5 at the end of the 16th over.
Earlier, KKR started their innings in disastrous fashion as openers Jacques Kallis and Gautam Gambhir were both dismissed without troubling the scorers.
Manish Pandey (48) and Robin Uthappa (55) added some respectability to the KKR innings before Shakib Al Hassan's unbeaten 30 made the target a challenging one for Karthik's side.
Delhi bowlers Jaydev Unadkat (1/25) and Nathan Coulter-Nile ( 2/27) restricted KKR with their tight lines and lengths, but the same could be said of only one Kolkata bowler – Sunil Narine.
The West Indian was the pick of the bowlers on the day, ending with figures of 1/18 in his four overs, but his best efforts weren't enough to halt Duminy's 35-ball salvo.
