Gujarat beat RCB despite maiden Kohli ton

A maiden T20 century by captain Virat Kohli was not enough as the Royal Challengers Bangalore fell to a six-wicket defeat against the Gujarat Lions in the IPL on Sunday.
Kohli batted the whole of the innings scoring a magnificent 100 not out off just 63 as the Royal Challengers posted an imposing total of 180 for two in their 20 overs.
Lokesh Rahul was the other main contributor for the Royal Challengers, striking his maiden IPL fifty as he finished on an unbeaten 51 off 35 balls.
Kohli and Lokesh added 121 for the third wicket after the visitors lost Shane Watson (6) and AB de Villiers (20) with 59 runs on the board.
The Lions got off to fast start in the chase with opener Dwayne Smith (32) and Brendon McCullum (42) putting on 47 in just over five overs before Smith perished to the bowling of Kane Richardson.
Skipper Suresh Raina added 28 off 24 balls but it was Dinesh Karthik who played the match-winning innings as he ended on an unbeaten 50 off 39 balls as the final runs were hit in the last over by Dwayne Bravo.
The Royal Challengers slipped to their third loss in five games while Gujarat go top of the table after their fourth victory in their first five matches.
