Majestic De Kock helps Delhi overcome RCB
Quinton de Kock scored his third century in T20 cricket as the Delhi Daredevils chased down a stiff target of 192 to easily beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets, on Sunday, to register their second win of the IPL season.
South Africa international De Kock struck 108 while the 24-year-old Karun Nair hit an unbeaten 54 as Delhi recovered from being 50 for two to reach the formidable target with five balls to spare.
De Kock and Nair shared in a match-winning partnership of 134 for the third wicket after Delhi lost Shreyas Iyer (0) and Sanju Samson (9) early in the piece.
The left-handed opening batsman De Kock scored his runs off 51 balls, including 15 fours and three sixes, while Nair took 42 balls for his runs.
Earlier, it was again the Virat Kohl and AB de Villiers show as the two modern-day greats entertained the crowd with a stunning partnership 107 off 10.5 overs for the second wicket.
Kohli scored 79 from 58 balls while De Villiers hit 55 off 33 balls and with the power-hitting of Shane Watson (33 from 19 balls) the Royal Challengers would have been confident with their total of 191 for five after 20 overs.
Fast bowler Mohammad Shami made a welcome return to cricket after injury by being the pick of the Daredevils' attack with figures of two for 34 in his four overs.
Delhi move up to third on the IPL table while the Royal Challengers are in fourth place after suffering their first defeat of the season.
