Dinesh Karthik ensured the runs kept coming in the later stages of the innings with a 18-ball 34 not out that included two sixes.

In reply, the Knight Riders folded to 105 all out in 18.2 overs with Jacques Kallis' 24 the top score.

Spinner Harbhajan Singh finished with figures of three for 27 for the Indians.

The result moves the Indians up to second place in the table on 16 points, hot on the heels of Chennai Super Kings.

The Knight Riders sit seventh in the nine-team league on eight points after their eighth defeat of the season.
