Every century and highest individual score in SA20 history
The SA20 is a relatively new T20 tournament, but has already produced some big totals from teams and individuals.
South African stars and overseas recruits alike have gone big at the SA20 so far.
Here, we look at every century and the highest individual scores in the history of the SA20.
1. Kyle Verreynne – 116 not out
The Pretoria Capitals batter has the highest individual score in the SA20. Batting at third position in the batting order, against MI Cape Town in Centurion in 2024, faced 52 deliveries and struck seven fours and nine sixes.
MI Cape Town won the fixture, but Verreynne was still named Player of the Match.
2. Faf du Plessis – 113 not out
The former Proteas captain has hit T20 centuries across this globe and, on this day, collected another for the Joburg Super Kings against Durban’s Super Giants in 2023.
Du Plessis faced 58 balls and hit eight fours and eight sixes at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. He was named Player of the Match in victory for the home side.
3. Jordan Hermann – 106 not out
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape youngster has gathered public praise from the great AB De Villiers. This is justified, given Hermann’s immense talent, which was on full display against MI Cape Town at Newlands in the 2024 SA20.
He faced 62 balls, striking eight fours and six sixes along the way during an entertaining 90-odd minutes at the crease.

4. Heinrich Klaasen – 104 not out
The year was 2023, the venue Centurion and the opposition the Pretoria Capitals, as Durban’s Super Giants big-hitter punched 10 fours and six sixes during his 44-delivery stay.
Klaasen has since gone on to hit centuries in Major League Cricket in the United States of America and other T20 leagues around the world.
5. Rassie van der Dussen – 104
Van der Dussen put together a double-century partnership with fellow opener Ryan Rickelton during 2024’s SA20 fixture against the Joburg Super Kings at the Wanderers.
He faced 50 balls and struck nine fours and six sixes across 70 minutes at the crease. That partnership and his ton were more than enough to secure victory for the visitors.
6. Will Jacks – 101
The Pretoria Capitals opener is the only player not from South Africa on this list. He opened the batting against the Super Giants in Centurion during the 2024 SA20 and hit eight fours and nine sixes.
It was a truly memorable innings, given the masterful shot selection and calculated big hits from the star England international. Players from other countries such as New Zealand‘s Kane Williamson are in the SA20 as well.
7. Aiden Markram – 100
Four of the seven centuries hit in the history of the SA20 were gathered at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Markram, captaining the Sunrisers at the time, has one of them. He hit six sixes and as many fours while facing 58 deliveries.
The Eastern Cape team won the match and eventually their second SA20 title.
