The 7 highest Test scores of 2024
Which batters hit the highest scores in 2024? Find out here.
We have all the information you need to know about the highest individual Test match scores this year.
One Indian star features twice among this top seven.
7. Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh – 191 vs Pakistan
Mushfiqur Rahim landed the Player of the Match award after playing a starring role in Bangladesh’s 10-wicket win over Pakistan in Rawalpindi in August.
Rahim hit 191 from 341 deliveries, which included 22 fours and one six. He spent almost nine hours at the crease. It was an impressive effort, indeed.
6. Ollie Pope, England – 196 vs India
Ollie Pope has captained and kept wicket for England in Test cricket. He was doing neither for this match and instead fixed focus to his primary role with the bat against India in Hyderabad in January.
Pope was on the brink of a double-century – just four runs away – before Jasprit Bumrah bowled him. Pope was playing a reverse scoop at the time, so arguably only had himself to blame.
5. Yashasvi Jaiswal, India – 209 vs England
Yashasvi Jaiswal welcomed an oustanding half-century against England in Visakhapatnam in February. He was masterful against an opposition bowling attack spearheaded by James Anderson.
England used just one seamer and four spinners in this innings. Jaiswal loved this approach – and cashed in to the tune of 209, hitting 19 fours and seven sixes along the way.

4. Yashasvi Jaiswal, India – 214 not out v England
Yes, Jaiswal again – again against England, but this time in Rajkot. He delivered a second-innings century this time. It played a big part in India completed a whopping 434-run win.
His 214 in Rajkot included 14 fours and 12 sixes. He was particularly successful against Anderson and fast bowler Mark Wood. There was plenty of entertainment for the home fans.
3. Rachin Ravindra, New Zealand – 240 vs South Africa
Rachin Ravindra had been slowly but surely making his mark on the international stage. This double-ton against the Proteas effectively marked his genuine arrival.
South Africa were, admittedly, fielding a second-string team. A lot of their first-choice players were involved in the SA20 at the time. But 240 Test match runs are 240 Test match runs, regardless.
2. Joe Root, England – 262 vs Pakistan
Multan was the venue, England the visitors and Pakistan the home side for the top two individual scores in Test match cricket in 2024. Joe Root and Harry Brook shared a remarkable 434-run partnership.
Many will state that the Multan pitch was dull and flat. Root and Brook didn’t mind. Keep in mind Pope fell for a duck before these two joined forces. Pope really missed out, hey.
1. Harry Brook, England – 317 vs Pakistan
Brook hit the only triple-century of 2024. He faced just 322 balls for his 317, which was lined by 29 fours and three sixes – a relatively conservative number of boundaries for such a big-hitting batter.
England won the match by an innings and then some. Brook picked up the Player of the Match award – deservedly so. He continues to epitomise England’s ‘Bazball’ ambition.
