England has wrapped up a 192-run victory in their four-day tour match against the Cricket Australia XI at Adelaide Oval.
The tourists required just three wickets to win on the final day, and made short work of the CA XI tail, dismissing the hosts for 75.
Victoria’s Matthew Short top-scored for the CA XI with 28, while Chris Woakes finished with four wickets.
James Anderson and Craig Overton claimed three each.
The match saw two CA XI bowlers – New South Wales leg-spinner Daniel Fallins and Tasmania fast bowler Simon Milenko – claim five-wicket hauls, while Milenko and fellow Tasmanian Tim Paine both passed 50 with the bat in the first innings.
For England the match asked questions of their batsmen but the performance of the bowlers will be a source of encouragement.
The two teams will meet in another four-day tour match in Townsville, starting on Wednesday.
