Sri Lanka level series

Sri Lanka leveled their ODI series against Bangladesh with a 70 run win at the SSC in Colombo having lost the toss and being put in to bat.
The pitch got trickier to bat on as the match progressed and we were never going to get the kind of scores we have seen in this series so far.
Sri Lanka posted 280/9 in their fifty overs with Kusal Mendis (54) and Thisara Perera (52) standing out in difficult conditions.
After a solid opening partnership from Upul Tharanga (35) and Danushka Gunathilaka (34) wickets began to fall at regular intervals.
There were decent contributions from Dinesh Chandimal (21) and Asela Gunaratne (34) offering support to Mendis.
Once Mendis nicked off to Mustafizur, Thisara took over and marshalled the tail towards the death eventually falling in the final over.
The target of 281 looked imposing from the get go and Bangladesh struggled to keep pace with the rate required as wickets tumbled.
Fifties from allrounder Shakib-al-Hasan (54) and tailender Mehedi Hasan (51) weren’t enough to get Bangaldesh close.
Nuwan Kulasekera tore through the Tigers lineup to claim 4 for 37 on his return to the ODI XI.
The series will be shared 1-1 just as the Test series was.
