Stokes and Woakes out of Australia ODI series

England allrounders Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes have both been ruled out of the remainder of the ODI series against Australia with injury.
Stokes tore his left hamstring before the second Test against Pakistan and though he will train with the squad for the fourth and fifth matches he is unlikely to play.
Reportedly Stokes is able to bat but isn’t yet at 100% mobility in the field and England have set the T20Is against India as a target for his return.
Woakes sustained a right quad tear and will be out of action until the ODI series against India which starts on 12 July.
England have conceded that Woakes’ injury, sustained during the Test series against Pakistan, is related to a chronic right knee issue which he received an injection for last Monday.
Both allrounders have been absent for the historic defeat to Scotland at the Grange and the brace of ODI victories over an out of sorts Australia.
The pair will be central to England’s plans to thwart Virat Kohli in his mission to win a Test series on English soil.
India’s visit will start with three T20Is followed by three ODIs that lead into the main event, a full five Test series.
