Australia women draw first blood in Kuala Lumpur
Australia claimed a six-wicket win in the opening match of their Women’s One-Day International series against Pakistan in Kuala Lumpur.
In a rain affect match, Australia was clinical with the ball, restricting Pakistan to just 95. Pace bowlers Megan Schutt (3-17) and Nicola Carey (3-19) were best with the ball, while spinners Georgia Wareham (2-22), Sophie Molineux (1-9) and Ashleigh Gardner (1-9) were also among the wickets.

Australia started strongly in reply, reaching 40 before opener Alyssa Healy was bowled for 26.
Fellow opener Nicole Bolton (22) looked to steady the ship but her departure, along with that of Meg Lanning (4) and Ellyse Perry (1), halted Australia’s momentum.
